The ASOS new in section is my home from home, there’s not an evening that goes by where I’ve not given it a browse. The ASOS x adidas Originals collection announcement? Music to my ears.
It has come at the perfect time, too; fashion’s obsession with sportswear is at an all-time high, Wimbledon’s on, sneakerinas are a thing, the UEFA Women’s EUROs officially kicked off yesterday, Oasis is touring again and also have a collection with adidas, everyone and their mum seems to be wearing the adidas Firebird tracksuit on repeat this year, and the girlies are turning to Formula 1 for outfit inspo.
Launching on the 15th July, the exclusive 24-piece line up takes inspiration from iconic adidas silhouettes and fuses it with ASOS’ creative vision. Think street style with a sporty heritage.
adidas is no stranger to a collab (the sellout adidas x Liberty London drop is proof of that) and neither is ASOS, so the two global fashion destinations are a match made in heaven, one that’s been ongoing for quite some time. Need I remind you of the viral ASOS x adidas cowprint Sambas? Didn’t think so.
“This collection marks a bold next step in our long-standing relationship with adidas. We’ve brought our customers exclusive trainer launches and fresh product drops, and now, we’re proud to pioneer this new way of working with one of our most trusted partners,” says Vanessa Spence, Executive Vice President Brand and Creative at ASOS.
“To take adidas’ inimitable three stripes and incredible apparel handwriting and rework through our unique fashion lens is a privilege, and marks the most exciting launch in both the history of the partnership and ASOS itself.”
According to the high-street retailer, the ASOS in-house design team immersed itself in adidas’ legacy, researching past collections and iconic looks to reinterpret them for the trend-led customer. Expect to see stripes and logos on summer-ready loungewear separates in burgundies and neutrals, accented by vibrant pops of blues and greens. As far as fabrics go, you’ll find crochet knits and statement prints, all of which go seamlessly with their best fashion trainers (of course).
Chris Walsh, Vice President Brand of adidas North Europe, said: “At adidas, we’re always pushing the boundaries of sport and style. ASOS has been a valued partner in bringing that vision to life. This collection captures the creativity and energy both brands represent.”
Available on ASOS.com only from Tuesday 15th July, prices will range from £30-£300 in sizes XS-XXXL.
