If you’re looking for women’s designer loafers this is why I chose Hermès loafers as a must-have investment

Hermès Paris loafers have been on my wishlist for ages. I’d been on the hunt for a pair of white designer loafers for women for over a year but everything was too chunky or I’d seen too many people wearing them. The reason I chose the white Hermès Paris loafers was because of their sleek design with a 1.7 cm heel, gold hardware and classic style that won’t date. So as soon as we booked our trip to Rome, a trip to the Hermès boutique for duty-free shopping got added to the itinerary. Here’s everything you need to know when buying Hermès loafers including the sizing, comfort and how to save.

Hermès loafers review

Are Hermès Loafers worth it? Hermès Paris loafers try on and review. After a year of searching for the perfect pair of white designer loafers, I finally found them: the Hermès Paris loafers. In this video, I’m reviewing everything from sizing, comfort, and style, to how I saved by buying them duty-free in Rome.

Hermès Paris Loafers Review | Sizing, Comfort & Duty-Free Tips

Hermès Paris loafers for women sizing

Sizing wise for the Hermès Paris loafers for women and whether they run big, small or true to size, I ended up sizing down a whole size. I wasn’t sure about the sizing when I tried them on in store with their shoe liners as that caused them to slip on the heels. I started with my usual size 37 which felt too big and then tried the 36. One foot felt perfect and the other still felt a little big but they convinced me they were the right size and that I could just use an insole in 1 side if that felt too big. They were right. Once I wore them with regular ankle socks or seamless loafer socks they were perfect.

So personally I find they run big. However, some other reviews say they run small and that they had to size up. So trying them on in store in person is going to be your best bet.

What are Hermès Paris loafers made of

A lot of the Paris loafer colors are made from goatskin like the Beige Glaise shown in the photos but the white is calfskin. Long story short, I asked for the white loafers and even verified they’d given me the right color as they looked off white in store but they said it was the lighting. There’s no label on the box or anywhere, so it wasn’t until I wrote this article and was looking at their website and saw the white should have a brown sole that I checked what they called the color on my receipt and I saw they’d sold me the wrong color. Of course, now it’s past the return window.

The material varies from color to color so be sure to pay attention to that when you’re looking at the different colors.

I’m always looking for calf or goat skin not lambskin for it’s durability. I’m always looking for calfskin not lambskin for it’s durability. So yes they do crease across the front of the shoe very easily. Literally from the first time I tried them on in the store! It makes them look like they’ve had more wear than they have but it also means there’s no breaking in period or at least there wasn’t for me.

Are Hermès Paris loafers for women comfortable

Yes, surprisingly so. I did wear them around the house for a whole day to try to break them in before braving them for the airport and flight to Saint Tropez but they really didn’t need it. I find them the most comfortable with socks. I didn’t get blisters but I did have a couple of friction points on my heels when I wore them new, without socks, in the heat and humidity.

Are Hermès Paris loafers worth it

This is so personal and depends on so many factors like how much you normally spend on shoes and how much you’ll wear them. To me they are, as they’re a classic style that won’t date that I can wear until I’ve worn them out. I got them to be a chicer option than sneakers for Summer city breaks.

What colors do the women’s Hermès Paris loafers come in

The Hermès Paris loafers come in 15 different colors but I’d recommend a neutral like black, white or tan if you’re looking to get the best cost per wear out of your designer loafers. The reason I wanted white is because I wanted them as a summer flat I could wear with everything.

In case you haven’t read the whole article, unfortunately, I’m not sure if he boxed up the wrong pair or what happened but instead of the Blanc I’d asked for and even verified they were white and it wasn’t the store lighting making them look dull he sold me Beige Glaise! I’m actually really upset as it’s an expensive mistake and I don’t ever wear beige as it washes me out which is why I wanted and asked for white and I’m past the the return window exchange them.

How to save on Hermès Paris loafers for women

The price of these women’s designer loafers varies greatly from country to country, how the exchange rate is at the time and if you’re able to buy them duty free. One of my top duty free shopping tips is to do your research and price comparisons from country to country ahead of time and see how much you’ll be saving. As sometimes one brand might be a lot cheaper and another more expensive than where you’re from.

Hermès is a lot better priced in Italy than in the US and the UK with the current exchange rate and duty free tax back.
