Angel Reese Reveals Her Current Beauty Routine

Athlete Beat

In this recurring franchise, we speak with beauty-forward athletes about their game-day routines. From the products they use and their pre-game rituals to the best beauty tips they’ve received from teammates and how they unwind after games, we find out everything there is to know about how your favorite athletes get ready and un-ready.

Though she made her WNBA debut only a year ago, Angel Reese is already one of the biggest stars in the league. During her inaugural season on the Chicago Sky, she became the first player in WNBA history to record 20+ rebounds in consecutive games and the first Chicago Sky rookie to earn a WNBA All-Star spot since 2013. For all her on-the-court achievements, the 22-year-old basketball player was named one of the most influential figures by Sports Illustrated last year.

Off the court, Reese has made equally impressive moves. Her podcast, Unapologetically Angel, was dubbed one of Spotify’s Best New Shows of 2024 and has garnered over 139K YouTube subscribers to date. Then, there’s her brand partnerships. Reese’s burgeoning business empire includes deals with giants like Reebok (she has a multi-year contract with a signature shoe in the works), McDonald’s, and Reese’s (very fitting, right?).

Reese added another exciting collaboration to her resume this month, working with SheaMoisture. With the brand being the official skin cleansing partner of the NCAA, Reese’s alignment with SheaMoisture feels meant to be. “I love that SheaMoisture is showing up for us, not just as athletes but as Black women,” Reese says. “They’re highlighting our stories, our beauty, and our power. It’s more than just beauty and skincare—they’re putting in the work to amplify our stories and our style, and that means everything.”

Reese appeared on SheaMoisture and Uninterrupted’s new video series, C-Suite Ballers, to celebrate the partnership. Hosted by former WNBA player and sports commentator Chiney Ogwumike, the show features conversations with inspiring women in sports and business. “These platforms help us own our narratives and show that we’re more than athletes,” Reese says when asked about the importance of sports-focused content. “We’re entrepreneurs, creators, and game-changers. Representation matters, and when young girls see us in these spaces—leading conversations and owning our voices—I hope it can inspire them to keep pushing the narrative forward too.”

Ahead, Reese opens up more about how she approaches beauty and self-care as an in-demand athlete and her advice for young girls in sports.

How She Likes to Freshen Up After a Game

“After a game, I have to take a hot shower, wash my face, and reset. I love SheaMoisture’s Coconut & Hibiscus Body Wash to feel fresh again and La Roche Posay’s Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser to keep my skin clear, especially after sweating.”

Her Three Beauty Must-Haves on Game Day

“My lashes, blush, and lip gloss. I love showing people you can be girly and still be a dawg on the court. Period.”

Her Favorite Beauty Maintenance Appointment

“I truly love the self-care and pampering of nail appointments. My nails are part of my identity. I like switching up the designs and colors and making them an extension of my mood and style.”

The One Skincare Product She Uses Daily

“I’m big on hydration, so I love a good moisturizer. Fenty Skin’s Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer SPF 30 keeps my skin soft and glowing.”

Her Self-Care Routine on Busy Days

“Practicing self-care by doing face and eye masks, lighting candles, etc., helps me decompress, especially after the adrenaline of a game or being ‘on’ during a podcast. I need that reset to protect my peace.”

How She Keeps Her Hair Healthy and Strong

“I’m big on using protective oils to keep my hair hydrated. Switching it up is so fun, but healthy hair is the goal.”

The Songs She Listens to While Getting Ready

“Any GRWM playlist is going to be a lot of my girls–GloRilla, Cardi B, Sexyy Red, Rihanna, Beyonce–they get me hyped up and feeling confident for anything.”

Her Advice for Other Young Athletes

“Be unapologetically you. People are always going to have opinions, but confidence comes from knowing your worth. Work hard, show up for yourself, and remember: you don’t have to dim your light for anyone.”

Why Brands Need to Keep Partnering with Athletes

“Because we’re not just athletes—we’re trendsetters, we’re influencers, and we deserve to feel beautiful in our skin too. Brands aligning with us shows the world that you can be strong and still care about your look. That duality? That’s power.”
