The Brenda Song renaissance has arrived, and for that I say “yay us.” We never stopped loving the star, but it’s been especially fun to see her make more red carpet appearances as of late—and see how her beauty style has evolved since her London Tipton days (that Disney Channel glam team was heavy handed with a hair straightener).
On March 20, Song stepped out in West Hollywood for an event celebrating Armani Beauty’s beloved Luminous Silk foundation. Before she headed out, she had some quality time with her makeup artist, Jenna Nicole—and was kind enough to tell Byrdie all about the choices they made.

Brenda Song’s Glam Routine
I know this isn’t always a good thing, but sometimes it’s nice to look the way you’re feeling.
“My makeup tonight makes me feel so glamorous. I usually tend to go more bronze with my look and tonight we decided to play with icy champagnes, which I love! I need to venture out more,” Song tells Byrdie.

Obviously, it helps when you’re down to explore and you enjoy the glamming process.
“I love getting ready! Whether it’s just me getting ready for the day or a full glam moment. It’s so much fun to play with make up! I also love my glam team so just chat the whole time,” she explained, adding that she doesn’t really have other pre-event rituals to speak of.
“I’m usually rushing around trying not to be late,” she added with a laugh.
Brenda Song’s Makeup Breakdown
And if you’re looking for a full breakdown, of her look… she gave us that, too—the eyeshadow lineup that made everything else come together included.
“I absolutely love the Armani Beauty Eye Tint Liquid Eyeshadow. It inspired the whole make up look tonight,” she explained. “I also have to mention the Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Foundation, I’ve been using it for over a decade—it’s a holy grail. It all starts and ends with the base.”
To compliment Song’s lovely complexion, Nicole used the Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Hydrating Primer, the famous foundation in shade 5.5, and Luminous Silk Concealer in the light/medium with warm undertones shade 4.
A healthy glow came in via the Luminous Silk Glow Blush in shade 50 and Luminous Silk Cheek Tint in shade 62.

Brenda Song’s Eyeshadow Lineup
Eyeshadow was complete with three shades of the Eye Tint Liquid Eyeshadow: the warm coppery blonde Sienna was swept across the eyelid for a base, taupe brown Cold Copper was blended into the crease for depth, and the soft, shimmery Gold Foil was added in the inner corner to highlight and brighten. Then, they used a warm chocolate brown Smooth Silk Eye Pencil and Vertigo Lift Mascara to finish things off.
Finally, the lip combo consisted of the Smooth Silk Lip Pencil in the muted rose-pink shade 12, which lightly defined Song’s pout for a fuller look before Lip Power Lipstick in the soft nude pink shade 104 came in with its warm undertones.
“I want to try and play more with color. I love an unexpected pop of color,” Song added.

Unsurprisingly, The Last Showgirl star’s outfit came together just as nicely.
“The moment I put it on, we knew it was perfect. I love how effortless, yet chic it is,” she said of the silky olive tanks she layered over a sheer gray button up and wore with her long, mocha mousse waves.
Here’s my official petition for Brenda Song to make some get ready with me content to hold us over until next season of Running Point. We wouldn’t mind a Macaulay Culkin cameo, every once in a while either.
