LONDON — Casablanca has appointed Priya de Souza chief marketing officer with immediate effect.
In her new role de Souza will lead the communications and marketing strategy for the brand, and report to founder and creative director Charaf Tajer and chief executive officer Frederick Lukoff.
“We have known each other for 15 years, and it’s a pleasure to welcome such a brilliant and sensitive mind to the industry. She has a rare ability to read both the industry and the social movements shaping our world. I’m thrilled to write the next chapter of the brand with her,” said Tajer of de Souza’s appointment.
Prior to Casablanca she served as senior director of global marketing communications at Adidas for over four years, where she worked on collaborations with brands such as Gucci, Balenciaga, and Grace Wales Bonner, and headed social and PR channels.
She has also worked at communications firm Exposure, intimate wear brand Agent Provocateur, and had partnership roles at Dazed Media and i-D magazine.
Casablanca has been in expansion mode since taking a fresh round of investment in 2023. This year alone, the brand opened its first stand-alone store at 62 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris in June and unveiled another location at 469 North Canon Drive in Beverly Hills later in the summer.
The brand, which has around 300 stockists worldwide, including Selfridges, Harrods, Galeries Lafayette and Saks, is hoping to open further stores in cities including New York, Miami, London, Milan and Dubai.
