Hilary Duff is one proud mama, and can’t stop gushing about how sweet her now-teen son is; and how everyone tells her the same thing about him.
On March 21, Duff shared the sweetest birthday tribute to her lookalike son on Instagram. “Wow- is time ever a thief. I thought ten years of being a mom felt wild…yet here I am at my son’s 13th birthday,” she started the post. “I can’t go anywhere without people telling me what a nice kid Luca is. Sweet, heart facing forward with the coolest point of view. He can talk anyone under the table about soccer, players dating back to the 70’s, specific games that defined history…He’s an amazing creative drawer, a beautiful writer (hopefully more of that in the future) and I think taking a new interest in history☺️ Its been so fun listening as he talks about the world’s history – since I didn’t have an “normal” schooling experience.. there are definitely some gaps & it’s sure cool to have the tables turned and see how much more he knows more than me…Just in this one instance of course 😉”

She added, “It’s so cool to see his interest shift, his confidence grow…his sure footedness and knowing being learned. My only son. In the photos, we see that Luca is truly her lookalike, starting with selfies of the two of them, along with pics of him with his siblings, eating some delicious sweets, skiing, holding his baby sister, playing games, and more.
Truly, he’s grown up so fast! And these photos prove it, showing him from his first moments as a newborn to the teen he is today!

As many fans know, Duff is a proud mom of four! She shares her firstborn, son Luca, born March 2012, with ex Mike Comrie and has two girls, Banks Violet, born in Oct 2018, Mae, born in March 2021, and Townes Meadow, born in May 2024, with her husband Koma.
In a previous interview with SheKnows, she talked about what kind of mom she is, and what kind of mom she believes her iconic character, Lizzie McGuire, would be. She said, “I think she would be a little shook. To be honest. A good mom, but a little frazzled. Like, how her mom was always so calming and knew what was going on? I think it would take Lizzie time to tackle all the elements, but she’d get it. One thing she was, was so compassionate. Everyone could relate to that. And honestly, you never know what kind of kid you’re going to get.”
