There was nothing childlike about North West‘s appearance in the music video for “Childlike Things.” The 11-year-old rapped in Japanese alongside FKA twigs, and she looked incredibly gown up while doing so. Around 6 minutes into the video, North is dramatically called to enter, and she is decked out in a fluffy white fur coat and skirt set, glittery glasses, and chunky pieces of silver jewelry. The way the tween confidently looks straight at the camera and nails her choreography makes her look like a seasoned professional.
“Proud of my baby,” Kim Kardashian wrote alongside a clip of the video and behind-the-scenes footage that she shared on Instagram. The TV personality shares her budding star with ex-husband Kanye West along with kids Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.
Followers were equally impressed and supportive. Paris Hilton left a heart eyes emoji in the comment section and others wrote kind messages.
“I just love her personality 👏 she has such spunk,” one person commented. Another added, “She’s so talented 🔥🔥🔥”
“Can’t believe how much she’s grown up,” yet another person said — and ditto!

The music video comes on the heels of Kanye West releasing a song with Sean “Diddy” Combs that included vocals from his daughter. The move prompted Kardashian to reportedly consider filing for full custody of their four kids.
After dropping the collaboration with Combs, West shared screenshots of alleged texts with the SKIMS founder, where she seemingly tried to stop the release of the song.
In their alleged exchange, Kardashian talked about how she had the trademark to North’s name.
“I sent paperwork over so she wouldn’t be in the Diddy song,” Kardashian said in the since-deleted screenshot, per Daily Mail. “To protect her.”
It’s an understandable instinct, given that Combs is awaiting trial for alleged sex trafficking and more. And no matter how grown up North looks, and no matter how committed she seems to be to a future career in rap and music, Kardashian doesn’t want her eldest’s name associated with the supposed felon. There are adults doing everything they can to distance themselves from the disgraced mogul, so why would an 11-year-old be any different?
