Find Your Perfect Coco Mademoiselle Perfume

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle now comes in 4 versions: Eau de Parfum Intense, Eau de Parfum, Eau de Toilette and Eau Pour la Nuit, plus bodycare, travel sizes and limited editions so finding the right one for you can be confusing! I’ve always loved Coco Mademoiselle eau de parfum. It’s a beautiful, fresh, feminine and ambery fragrance for the day but I hadn’t realized how many versions of it there are now until I visited the new Chanel beauty boutique in my town. If you’ve ever been curious about which scent from this iconic collection is right for you I tried and compared all the variations of Coco Mademoiselle to make the differences clearer. From the classic Eau de Parfum to the softer Pour Le Nuit and even the intense version so you can get a clear idea of which Chanel Coco Mademoiselle perfume suits your style and personality best.

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum

Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum is the brightest, lightest and freshest of the Coco Mademoiselle collection while still being a bold ambery fragrance that’s sensual and strong. I’ve been buying this Chanel Coco Mademoiselle perfume since 2002, when I first discovered it working on the cruise ships. So it alway reminds me of hot sunny destinations.

Citrus and florals are the 2 predominant scents I’m picking up, more so than any of the others in this Chanel fragrance collection. The vibrant orange is fresh and doesn’t remind me of cleaning products which is the reason I don’t normally like citrus scents but I love this. The Jasmine and May Rose are the strongest in the eau de parfum and make this a really pretty feminine, floral scent. The light touch of patchouli makes it a little sweet and rich but not too sweet. The Vetiver is what gives it it’s warmth and balances out the sweetness.

It’s a complex but light, citrusy, floral scent that’s brighter, fresher and less warm than the others in the collection. It’s perfect for a daytime or Summer perfume. The Eau De Parfum is another Chanel fragrance I keep coming back to and probably always will.

Irresistibly sensual, irrepressibly spirited. A sparkling, bold ambery fragrance that recalls a daring young Coco Chanel. An absolutely modern composition with a strong yet surprisingly fresh character.

A double name, a double personality. Independent and endearing, mischievous and provocative, light and exuberant. The expression of a woman free to reinvent herself day after day. Chanel

Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Toilette by Chanel

Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Toilette is going to be just as strong, fruity, floral and amber fresh as the eau de parfum. It has the summery floral blend of May rose and jasmine petals but it’s not going to be as long wearing and it differs in that it has a softened base, top notes of Sicilian grapefruit and lychee to make it more vibrant and fruity. If you want something lighter and slightly more affordable, try Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Toilette.

Coco Mademoiselle L’eau Privée Eau Pour La Nuit

Coco Mademoiselle L’eau Privée Eau Pour La Nuit as the name suggests is designed to be worn at night. Which seems like a contradiction as it was created as a light and delicate version of Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel In-House Perfumer Creator Olivier Polge who wanted to create a soft, sensual fragrance.

However, once you smell this beautiful, warm, ambery scent it makes sense. L’eau Privée has notes of white musk, jasmine absolute and rose petal accord that are rich and sensual enough for the evening but incredibly balanced so no one scent dominates.

It isn’t as strong as Coco Mademoiselle Intense which I’d class as a true evening perfume. I’d class it as a warm floral perfume that’s more citrus forward and less warm and spicy than the Intense. You can also really smell the Jasmine and Rose. I absolutely love it and would wear this on summer evenings and possibly even the day.

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Intense

Coco Mademoiselle Intense was launched in 2018 as an intense, powerful, deep ambery-woody version of Coco Mademoiselle versus the Pour La Nuit being a light, delicate, softer iteration.

It’s the warmest, richest and most Patchouli heavy of all of the Coco Mademoiselle fragrances. It’s sweet, slightly musky, rich, deep, and a complex perfume. I don’t normally like vanilla perfumes but this one has both Tonka bean and Vanilla from Madagascar that smoothes it out and gives it a creamy sweet smell in the best possible way. Coco Mademoiselle Intense is still a floral perfume with Rose and Jasmine but it’s less floral than the others.

Intense is a warm, strong, rich and feminine perfume. It’s less floral and citrus forward than the lighter Coco Mademoiselle L’eau Privée Eau Pour La Nuit and is a lot warmer, stronger, and has more depth and richness. They’re both statement evening perfumes. Whereas Coco Mademoiselle eau de parfum is the most vibrant, citrus and floral and suited for the day than the others.

Chanel Limited edition Coco Mademoiselle Parfum Grand Extrait

I don’t have the limited edition Coco Mademoiselle Parfum Grand Extrait due to it’s price point but it’s on my dream wishlist. If you want to splurge on this limited edition Coco Mademoiselle perfume that’s been created with so much attention to detail:

  • The perfume bottle is made entirely from glass and features a white label.
  • To be true to the original design, a faceted cabochon to recall the shape of Place Vendôme.
  • It’s created in a singular process designed to be the most precious expression of fragrance.
  • Each Les Grands Extrait bottle comes inside a white satin-lined case and is protected by a sleeve that opens like a flower.

Like all of the Coco Mademoiselles perfumes it’s ambery and fresh with the same floral notes of Jasmine and May rose thats in the entire collection but this one is enriched by accents of iris.

What’s the difference between all of the Chanel Coco Mademoiselle fragrances

I don’t know if I have a favorite Coco Mademoiselle fragrance and if you like warm, amber, floral fragrances it’s hard to go wrong with any of them. As they all have similar notes but different intensities, balances of notes and uses.

I’d wear Coco Mademoiselle eau de parfum as a daytime perfume in the summer. The eau de perfume obviously is longer wearing than the eau de toilette.

Coco Mademoiselle Intense as an evening perfume year round. It also comes in the prettiest jewelry inspired white, gold and pearl adorned Coco Mademoiselle purse spray set which is sold out online right now but still available in a lot of the boutiques. It’s on my wishlist right now.

L’eau Privée Eau Pour La Nuit is the softest perfume. It’s a warm floral perfume where you can also really smell the citrus, Jasmine and Rose but in a muskier, smoother less bright way than the Parfum. I absolutely love it and would wear this on summer evenings and possibly even the day.

The limited edition Coco Mademoiselle Parfum Grand Extrait is going to be either your collectors piece or for the person who likes more Iris notes.

I hope this comparison helped you find the perfect scent that resonates with your style.
