Unfortunately, most of those photos were taken at Disneyland, where the weather permits such styles, and not at Walt Disney World, where the same can’t be said. As someone who grew up and lived near central Florida for nearly 15 years, I can confidently tell you that the heat in the Sunshine State is no joke. Making it extremely difficult to look and feel your best at Disney World.

What is the Weather Like at Walt Disney World?

Fortunately (or unfortunately, however you decide to look at it), Walt Disney World sits smack dab in the middle of the Sunshine State in Orlando. There, it feels like summer for most of the year, aside from the very short winter season Florida experiences during November through January. Because the parks are situated more inland, the weather is typically hot and humid, with highs that can reach up to 90 degrees and beyond. If you end up going during the extended summer months, you’re bound to have some sweaty days while you’re there, which is why cool and breezy fabrics are a must.

However, if you’re like me who really wants to get some holiday ‘fits in the work, the best time of year is to go towards the end of the year, during October, November, or December. The weather is usually much cooler giving you leeway to wear comfy sweatshirts or sweaters the entire day. Plus, I find that the older I get, I can last longer in the park when it’s cooler — and with the amount of money a ticket costs, you better believe I’m getting a full day in no matter what.

What Should I Wear to Walt Disney World?

Since the weather is usually hot for the majority of the year, it can be a little limiting on what you can wear that’ll keep you cool, dry, and comfortable. The best recommendation is to find comfy athleisure pieces that you can last all day inand are made out of sweat-wicking fabrics. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t show off some Disney swag. You justhave to get a little creative with it. Take this opportunity to channel your favorite characters with the same color scheme or reach for accessories that show them off in unique ways.
