It was a fashionable family reunion at Paris Fashion Week on Oct. 1.
Fans were thrilled to see Janet Jackson back with her niece, Paris Jackson, at the Tom Ford Womenswear Spring Summer 2026 show on Wednesday. The 27-year-old daughter of the late Michael Jackson rushed into her aunt’s arms for a warm hug while wearing sky-high stilettos — an impressive feat. (See the video here.)
The fashionable women walked into the show together in their chic, all-black ensembles as they dove deep into conversation. It was a sweet moment that defused the long-standing rumors that the aunt-niece duo were engaged in a family feud. Paris has tried to clear the air with fans over the years going back to 2018, but the stories still lingered.

The rumors first began when Paris skipped Janet’s big career moment when she was awarded the Billboard Icon Award at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards. “Dear social media followers, friends, stalkers, lovers and haters, and fellow moonwalkers: Please do not tell me/demands/try to control how I handle my relationship with the people in my life, specifically my family,” she wrote on her Instagram Story, per Page Six, after the event.
“As amazing and as s—-y as things can be, it is no one’s business but ours,” she continued. “I understand that some of you feel some sort of connection or need to be a part of our lives considering you watched us grow up. However, I am handling my situation exactly how my father did. And I am happy keeping it that way. I will always have love and respect for my family. ALWAYS.”
Unfortunately, the headlines didn’t stop, and the model had to take to her X account to clear the air again by specifically mentioning the “Rhythm Nation” singer. “Janet and I haven’t argued in over 6 years. Stop with these stupid rumors,” Paris wrote. “I have nothing but love for my family, and they all know it. f—k off.”
Still, their public reunions were few and far between. In 2022, they made their first public appearance at Fashion Week after a 13-year absence. Their last photographer together was at the 2009 memorial for the King of Pop. Janet chronicled their loving time together in an Instagram post with a sweet caption, “So good catching up w/ my beautiful niece @parisjackson.”
This time around, fans seem to be believing that their relationship is on solid ground, even if they haven’t been photographed together in three years. It’s hard being in the public eye as a Jackson family member, but Paris and Janet are navigating their relationship beautifully.
