We Found Alysa Liu’s Exact Lip Oi

Before the magnificent Alysa Liu stepped up on the podium to accept her gold medal for free skating at the 2026 Olympics in Milan, she reapplied her lip oil.

Olympians… they’re just like us! Just kidding—you’ve watched her routine, right? The 20-year-old is a million times more talented than most people, and that’s exactly why she became the first American woman in 20 years to take home the gold on Thursday.

…But we’re not completely dissimilar. I, for one, also love an ultra-shiny lip product. Those spins are just something to work toward in the future.

Over on Tiktok, those with algorithms pushing both skating and beauty (a good setup, honestly) were quick to figure out Liu’s product of choice: Rare Beauty’s Soft Pinch Tinted Lip Oil. One creator even figured out the shade Liu seemed to be wearing: the rose-brown Delight.

“I have been analyzing interviews and footage from the moment she won that gold,” user @abbythebadassmom shared in her detective video. (If it wasn’t her, it would’ve been me.)

Though the word “joyful” seems most fitting for the Olympian’s performance, “delight” will work too. Or… maybe they should just rename it? An Alysa Liu x Rare Beauty collab would be amazing, though I’d also love to see her with a funky hair brand.

Olympic Figure Skater Glam

Earlier this week, Byrdie had a chance to talk to Liu’s fellow babe of glory Isabeau Levito. The 18-year-old explained that most people don’t know the figure skaters are responsible for their own glam at the games.

“We are just our own makeup and hair geniuses,” she said. “Some people, like the ice dancers, take hours to do it because the image that they portray is extra important. But it’s all self-done.”

So, it makes even more sense that Liu would be the one to handle touch ups. Cheers to a gold medal performance and some gold medal glam.
