TikTok Mom’s ‘POV’ of Life With a 3 Year Old Will Crack You Up

Parenting small kids means hearing “Mom, watch this!” over and over … and over. While we all want to cheer our kids on and boost their confidence, constantly having to look at things like backyard tricks and colorful artwork can get a bit exhausting. Truly, it’s no wonder most moms have pretty thin patience, especially in summertime when everyone’s home from school all day long.

Enter Christy Rodriguez, a hilarious TikToker and mom who is keeping things very real with her latest funny post. In the video clip, which has been viewed more than 3.5 million times since it was posted a week ago, Rodriguez does her very best impression of her 3-year-old son asking her to “watch” him play outside.

“Mom, look at this,” she says while making funny hand motions. “Mom, watch,” she says again as she jumps off a cooler on her deck then pretends to fall, hurt her knee, and burst into tears. The video, titled “POV: You have a 3 year old,” continues with a series of funny and all-too-real scenarios: “Mom, can you put your hand like this on the car? Watch how much speed I have. Was that fast?”

It’s a silly, lighthearted look into what it’s actually like to have a little kid at home who wants your attention constantly, and the short video clip is really resonating with the moms and dads on TikTok. “One time my daughter asked me to watch her think,” wrote one follower. “My son is 10 and he still stops the whole house to watch him do something completely unimpressive,” wrote another.

“I’m on my 176,567th ‘wow buddy, so cool’ for the day,” joked one mom. “All. Summer. Long,” said another.

Others were quick to remind moms of the old adage: The days are long, but the years are short. “I would love to go back to those days,” said one commenter. “It goes by really fast. My daughter is 23 and married. Enjoy every moment.” Another said, “Enjoy this now. My kids are 16 and 17 and I’m invisible to them unless they need something.”

Yes, we know we’ll miss these days when our kids are grown, but in the meantime, hearing our name called all day long is a bit exhausting. In fact, Rodriguez may have summed every parent’s thoughts up best with the way she captioned her TikTok. “MOM WATCH ME! MOM LOOK!” she wrote. “Love my boy, but my neck be BREAKING watching all these moves!”
