The Trend
Boho bangs are the kind of effortless bangs you’d see if you looked out into the crowd at Glastonbury—in 2011 or today. They’re semi sheer, perfectly wispy, and utilize your hair’s natural texture.

Shape-wise, they lean Bardot, falling down low enough to tickle your cheekbones on the sides at their longest and shortest at the center. Still, I wouldn’t qualify them as curtain bangs—they’re too choppy, with too many alternating lengths at play. Muses include last-decade Alexa Chung, obviously, Suki Waterhouse, 2007 Kate Moss, and Daisy Edgar-Jones. (Cool British girl alert.)

And though it’s no secret that curtain bangs have been in for the last couple of years, it’s important to note that the word boho comes first in this trend. This fringe is all about undone and effortlessly cool energy—perfect whether you’re that way inherently or you’re trying to seem effortlessly cool but are simply sick of styling your hair.
There’s a reason Edgar-Jones wore them so much on her Twisters press tour. Chilly, whipping winds are more than welcome.
How to Style Them
When it comes to getting your boho bangs just right, there are no major hot tools or big rollers required (save for a good round brush and hairdryer if you’re not in the mood to air dry). Natural texture is your best friend and a little frizz is fair company.

While your hair is drying, clip your bangs back on each side. Then, once the rest of your locks are too your liking, take them down and spray them with a dry texturizing spray—Mane’s Cotton Candy would be perfect. Work your fingers through, twisting and twirling to capitalize on that great natural movement.
Then, throw on your wellies and hit the town. Or throw on an Oasis album, if you’d rather stay home.

Those Gallagher boys’ ’90s hair is perfect boho bang inspiration, too.
