I thought you might enjoy a happy adoption story. Murphy (FKA Humphrey) is a very happy dog who wants to play all day, snuggle up on a lap when tired, and go for long walks in the woods — he gets incredibly excited by squirrels! He has boundless energy. When he gets very excited, he stands on his hind feet waving his front paws. This happens whenever he wants something (usually food!) but also just a check-in for attention. He and Bowen (the big black dog you helped us to introduce to Murphy) are slowing acclimating, although Bowen’s exuberance and desire to play are a bit overwhelming at times for the little guy. Murphy gets along great with other small dogs but does not like big dogs. He is very vocal and very loud, with a large repertoire of sounds, almost like a conversation. While not perfect… Murphy still occasionally pees in the house, barks at men wearing hats and tries to chase runners who pass us on walks… this has been a wonderful experience and I am grateful to have found him!
