Carmen Electra is ready for her Playboy close–up again at the age of 54.
Electra made a daring entrance at the 35th anniversary of The Abbey in West Hollywood, California on May 22, and she did not disappoint her fans. She came dressed as a Playboy bunny with a form-fitting, leopard-print bodysuit, matching bunny ears, a bow tie, and shiny black tights. She completed the look with white cufflinks, black platform heels, a smoky eye, and sleek, straight hair.
The Baywatch star first posed for the magazine in May 1996, and it sounds like she’s making a return 30 years later. “I’m doing it, that’s why I have the bunny costume on,” she told TMZ.

She also confirmed the news to her followers in her May 23 Instagram post: “Sending all my love to @theabbeyweho for having me celebrate their 35th anniversary ✨ and to @playboy for making me a bunny for the evening 🐰 after shooting with them again. I mean, over 150 covers worldwide next to Pam, what an honor. I love u @playboy.”
Electra is proud of her Playboy past, even though it might surprise fans to know that she was never officially a Playboy bunny.
“Once I saw the photos I was … I had to pinch myself. I couldn’t believe that I was actually in the magazine and going to be a part of such an iconic time, being a part of Playboy in general,” she told Fox News Digital in November 2019. “Marilyn Monroe started off with Playboy, and those are the women that I admire and truly have been inspired by. So yeah, Playboy was a lot of fun… And I’m not shy at all anymore, by the way.”
In September 2025, Electra also revealed to TMZ that she was in talks to return to her role as Lani McKenzie on Fox’s Baywatch reboot. She had one condition about her possible cameo, though.
“I don’t know if I’d want to be in the water,” she said. “It’s the ocean, you know? I love being around the ocean. Working in it is very different. When you’re working in the ocean, it is very complicated.”
But Electra still possesses a skill from her years on the glamorous lifeguard TV series.
“I could do the slow-motion run. I can definitely do that,” she claimed. “And I still look really good in that suit, so that is not a problem. But the water — maybe I could be a captain!”
Baywatch returns to TV in January 2027.
