Zendaya came straight out of the ’60s in a silver minidress and flip curl to see Nicolas Ghesquière’s latest Louis Vuitton show Tuesday afternoon. Her look was a bit Swinging London. The actress is based there and currently juggling multiple productions, alternating weeks between “Dune: Part Three” and “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.”
“It was really important for me to be here,” she said of making a day trip across the Channel. She was heading back just after the show. “Thankfully, it’s similar time zones, so I’ll be all right.”
How does she stay balanced between very different characters? “I have no idea. I’m doing my best figuring it out every day. I have my little journal where I keep all my lines and all my work, and that helps me a lot. I think it’s also just passion.”
Zendaya’s look was a favorite from the brand’s most recent cruise collection, which was shown in Avignon in May. It came down to two choices, and she selected it alongside longtime stylist Law Roach.
Roach has recently returned to the styling ranks after a two-year semi-retirement.
“I missed the chaos and excitement, but mostly, I missed the clothes,” the image architect said.
When Sophie Turner was shown to her seat, she did a double take. It was a giant, elevated winged chair placed between two low couches.
“It’s a throne,” she joked. “I’m totally flattered. I don’t know what to say, to be honest, but I like it. I want a throne for the rest of my life as of today.” Still, she chose to stand with the crowd until the last minute.
Turner wore another look from the cruise collection, featuring oversized, sweeping, wing-like shoulders. “I feel like a character from ‘The Sandman,’” she said, comparing the outfit to a costume from the dark Netflix series.
“And I love that. That’s why Nicolas’ collections are always inspiring to me. It’s sort of character and bringing in otherworldly elements,” she added. “So I’m very thrilled with it — but it’s hot. I’m sweating, heavily. But you know what? Fashion is pain, baby.”
Sunlight streamed through the windows of the Louvre into the gilded hall where the show was held.
Turner is currently training for Amazon’s upcoming “Tomb Raider” series, written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Production is set to begin in early 2026, but she’s already learning stunts for the role. So is it fighting, jumping, rappelling off cliffs? “I’m learning it all,” she said.
The K-pop contingent caused a commotion, with Blackpink’s Lisa snapping pics with Stray Kids’ Felix.
Felix, who has walked for Ghesquière in the last two shows, was enjoying this one from the front row.
“Definitely I would love to come to the next show to walk. I’m just very grateful to even being here,” he said. The rapper was in a white leather jacket with lots of silver buckles and straps. The look made him “feel very confident,” he added.
Jennifer Connelly, a longtime Louis Vuitton ambassador, admitted that being part of the fashion house hasn’t inspired her to explore K-pop. Instead, she focused on the art in the room, particularly the spectacular ceiling. Guests entered the venue by walking past boxed-up antiquities lining the halls.
“It’s amazing, such a privilege to be here,” said Connelly, who is also a close friend of Ghesquière’s, gaping at the gilded ceiling. Sometimes she gets an early preview of the collection, she said — but not this time. “But I mean, he always surprises me, and yet it’s never surprising that he delivers something extraordinary.”
Connelly recently wrapped filming the second season of Apple TV’s “Dark Matter.” Although production is complete, she’s unsure when it will premiere. At the show, she chatted with Ana de Armas about upcoming projects.
Emma Stone was spotted speaking with Felix from Stray Kids, but both jumped when a crowd of guests knocked over one of the metal chairs — despite security’s best efforts to protect the central table. Fortunately, no artworks were harmed in the making of the fashion show.
Other guests including France’s First Lady Brigitte Macron, Léa Seydoux, Phoebe Dynevor, Noémie Merlant and Shay Mitchell watched as Ghesquière’s latest collection featuring caftans, Victorian collars and turbans unfolded.
