Spicy Watermelon Lime Mocktail - The Good Men Project

If you’ve made my spicy watermelon lime syrup, this spicy watermelon mocktail is the obvious next step. It comes together in about two minutes and tastes like something you’d order at a restaurant. Sweet, tart, fizzy, and just spicy enough to keep things interesting, it’s an easy alcohol-free drink that’s perfect for hot days, happy hours, and everything in between.

A Note From Kristen

I made this the same day I finished a batch of the syrup and immediately knew it needed its own post. I’ve been drinking it all week over ice with a squeeze of fresh lime and it hasn’t gotten old. It’s the kind of thing you make once and then find yourself keeping syrup stocked in the fridge specifically so you can make it again. Happy sipping!

Ingredient Notes

A few quick notes on the ingredients that matter most. Find the full ingredient list and instructions in the recipe card below.

  • Spicy Watermelon Lime Syrup: This recipe is built around my homemade spicy watermelon syrup. Make a batch ahead of time and keep it in the fridge for up to 10 days.
  • Sparkling Water: Plain sparkling water works best so it doesn’t compete with the syrup. Club soda, San Pellegrino, plain La Croix, or any unflavored sparkling water all work well.
  • Lime Juice: Fresh works best here!

Ways to Enjoy It

  • Serve over a big handful of ice in a nice glass for a classic mocktail.
  • Rim the glass with a mix of flaky salt and chili powder for extra flair.
  • Add a splash of coconut water in place of some of the sparkling water for a tropical twist.
  • Turn it into a cocktail by adding 1.5 oz tequila or mezcal

Kristen’s Top Tips

  • Stir gently after adding the sparkling water so you keep the fizz.
  • Taste before serving. Depending on your syrup batch and lime, you may want a touch more of either.
  • Make the syrup ahead and keep it cold so this comes together in under two minutes whenever you want it.
  • Thin Fresno pepper slices make a great garnish and add a little extra heat if you want it. Better yet, if you reserve the peppers from making the syrup, you have an instant candied pepper garnish!
